Original program printed in black ink on white paper. Small section of text printed in red ink on front. Also includes two separated leaves of another program tipped in on one of the interior panels of main program. This additional program is also printed in black ink on white paper and is for the same concert advertised on the main program. Sold as is. 6" x 9." Main program: one leaf folded in half and printed on all four sides. Tipped-in partial program: two leaves, each printed on front and back (the entire program had about eleven leaves, the rest of which are not included). One black-and-white photographic illustration of Vladimir Horowitz on front panel. Program is clean and intact overall but has slight age toning and significant damage from glue on back panel (including bits of glue, small pieces of residual paper, and spots of surface tearing). Rest of panels of main program do not have this damage from glue. A Good copy. An original program and two additional leaves from another program which each announce a concert piano performance by Vladimir Horowitz at the Symphony Hall in Boston. Concert management was Arthur Judson, Inc. The main text of the program lauds Horowitz, his career, and his performances in different countries. Includes advertisement on back panel for Steinway. Vladimir Horowitz (1903-1989) was a Russian-American pianist and composer. He made his piano solo debut in Kharkov in 1920. Soon after, Horowitz toured the Soviet Union but still had economic hardships from the Russian Civil War. He made his debut in Germany in 1925 and had planned to not return to Russia. Horowitz then made his debut in the United States in 1928 where he achieved critical acclaim and was very popular with audiences. He moved to the U.S. in 1939 and became a U.S. citizen in 1944 and continued to perform both in the U.S. and abroad and also through televised recordings.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Good.
